Quite Interesting!

I just finished reading "Healing Lost Souls", and I must say that I'm not really sure how I feel about this subject. The ideas it contains are quite new to me, and I will need to take some time to digest them...

In this book, the author discusses his findings (as well as the findings of other professionals) that people on earth can be impacted by the attachment of earthbound souls, "dark force entities" &/or extraterrestrials (ET's). The idea being that when there is a weakness in our auras, it's easy for these non-physical entities to enter into our physical being, and impact our lives in quite significant ways.

The author also describes his way of helping these entities move on - a therapy called SRT - where the experience is treated as real (no matter how off the wall it sounds), and the entity is spoken to in a calm, nice but firm way, where it's explained that they are disturbing this persons life & need to move into the light.

Other topics such as past life regression therapy & the history of exorcisms is also included.

Examples are included throughout where the conversations between therapist & non-physical entity are noted, and the change in that persons life after such sessions are completed is discussed.

I would highly recommend this book to those who are interested in the paranormal, as well as to therapists who are unsure how to proceed with certain patients - as 1 or more of the therapies discussed here may be of help. One word of caution though, and open mind is a must!

NO JOKE!

For those that do not believe or think that this is impossible, think again. Any book by Dr.Baldwin is a MUST READ if you are interested in, or are going to attempt Spirit Releasement. After learning all I can about this subject and participating in, and cunducting therapy sessions, I can say that it's TRUE. After my clients failed to accept my suggestion therapy, I took to sprit releasement and you will not believe the amazing things that have taken place. Is it real? All I can tell you is that spirit releasement WORKS! Yes, this work is years ahead of it's time, but when is it the right time? That time is now as we seem to be moving on a tide of planetary changes in human consciousness. GET IT, READ IT.

Must read for understanding lost/important knowledge

This is a great, comprehensive, fascinating book and a must read for "regular" people and for therapists and healers of all sorts. There is a whole part of our world that no one talks about anymore when it comes to spirt attachment - at least in positive, healing terms (I mean other than angels, guides, etc.). Yes, we talk about the scarier aspects of spirits - ghosts, demons, possession, dark stuff (the movies have conditioned us about these subjects). But we need to know the information in this book (told in a very readable style) because these things operate in our world and affect us much more than we ever imagined.

Most of us are not aware of these potentially powerful, negative influences on our lives and therefore cannot help themselves or others with problems due to this lack of knowledge. They may fear spirits and dark-force entities, but that isn't constructive. This book is full of practical, basic knowledge necessary for living healthy lives by freeing us of these unwanted influences. We've gotten away from consciously dealing with non-physical entities in our post-industrial, technically oriented culture. Just because we don't believe in these things, doesn't mean they don't exist.

This book has plenty of cases that prove the existence of "spirit attachment" and un-welcomed entity interference and gives us guidance on how to free ourselves and our loved ones. There are many fascinating stories here. It will change your world view, that's for sure! Hope you have an open mind - it will pay off if you read this book.

A friend and I have used this author's techniques and accomplished freeing me of some very unwanted influences. I know it sounds crazy and weird - but it works! (I also used Edith Fiore's techniques and have read all of Dr. Modi's books on the subject as well. Also highly recommended. But this is a great book if you are only going to read one.)

Excellent Sequel to Highlander Series!

Michele Sinclair fascinated and entertained Scottish Historical Romance fans with her debut, "The Highlander's Bride." In this sequel, the story of the McTiernay family continues with the youngest and first to marry McTiernay brother, Colin McTiernay, a highlander who married into a lowlander clan for political alliance and was briefly mentioned in the first book. Colin finds himself once again single, widowed, and being pushed by his father-in-law to marry his wife's sister, Makenna Dunstan, in order to keep the Dunstan clan strong and defended.

The strong and handsome leader still has not been accepted by the Dunstan clan, despite his previous marriage to Makenna's sister Deidre. Besides his problems with the Dunstan people's mistrust and the surrounding laird's greed in wanting Dunstan, he cannot believe he is being forced into marriage with Makenna, who he constantly was at odds with during his marriage, and feels another marriage is not required to be a strong laird. Deidre was blonde, blue-eyed, and meek; a woman trained to run a large keep and be an important laird's wife, but she was also very fragile. Colin loved Deidre in his own way, but his heart was not really engaged. Thus, it was a comfortable marriage. Now he is being offered a red-haired, green-eyed, tomboy, termagant, to deal with and marry, who is willful, can wield a sword as well as, or better than, many of the Dunstan men, and worst of all, has no idea how to do woman's work.

Makenna has many of the same feelings as Colin. She is afraid of him and her own feelings and lack of confidence to step into Deidre's place. She has seen Colin as the huge bellowing man that has done nothing but make her life miserable by not allowing her to sword practice and instead forced her to train at ladies work, where she was a complete failure and ridiculed by many of her people. From the time of the marriage and through the trials of running the Dunstan clan, Colin begins to see the colorful beauty and strength of Makenna and falls deeply in love with her, while at the same time, Makenna sees Colin as the strong leader needed for the clan, as well as one to awaken her womanly passions in bed. Can Colin convince Makenna that she is truly his first true love and save Dunstan at the same time?

This is a well-written, interesting, and entertaining story that is packed with suspense. Adding to the suspense and mystery is that there are many enemies within, trying to sabotage the keep and Makenna and Colin's budding desire, passion and love. As Colin struggles with his leadership and feelings of a true marriage of passion and love, Makenna struggles as well with her growing womanhood and homemaking skills. They soon grow to realize that Makenna's father made the true match the second time around and that Colin and Makenna are perfect for each other, not only in bed, but in keeping the Dunstan clan strong, united, and protected from dangers within and without.

As there are many McTiernay brothers, Scottish romance readers have more fun to look forward to in the future as the series continues. Michele Sinclair has a talent to keep the reader engaged with interesting storylines and unforgettable characters. A real Highland and Lowland treat!

A promising sequel

I was delighted to start the second novel (I believe 2 of 6) of Michele Sinclair's highlander series (The McTiernay brothers). The first book started with the hero and heroin meeting as the hero was returning from Colin's wedding, our hero in this novel. About two years pass and Colin finds himself in discussion with his late wife's father regarding a marriage with the lairds youngest daughter, Makenna. This alliance is needed because the lairds health is failing and he needs someone who can protect The Dunstan clan and his name. Also, Colins late wife wanted the union to take place!

Colin does not want a new wife and if he did it would not be Makenna, For she is too wild and untamed. Makenna does not feel that she is "wife material." Not to mention in Makeena's eyes, Colin is a brute who has taken all of her special privileges away. No more sword playing is just her first complaint of many. Colin wants to refuse this union but honor and pride will not allow him to.

They are married and soon find themselves more attracted to one another than each thought possible. No longer does Colin only see a wild and untamed lass before his eyes, but a beautiful woman he is falling in love with. Makenna finds herself drawn to Colin much more than I thought possible in such a short time. She begins to understand Colin and realize all he has done for her clan (who is not welcoming by any means). The highlander that so many hate has managed to win her heart and she vows to show a united front to the clan.

The story unfolds wonderfully. Excellent secondary characters will make you smile. Ahh, a jealous past suitor of Makenna is also starting mischief along with many of Colin's clan members. There is love, hate, betrayal, pride, honor and enough steamy sex scenes to keep you up all night reading this novel. We also get a good dose and many updates of Conor and Laurel from "The Highlander's Bride." A great followup by Michele Sinclair, I anxiously await Cole's story.

A Must Read Highlander Series

I do not usually give 5 stars, but this book was by far the best summer read yet. You will fall in love with Colin and Makenna. There is such a romance that builds with them that leaves you feeling good inside. This author really made the pages come a live so that you could not help but laugh or cry with the characters. The research on the history was well done and I loved the mention and background on William Wallace. The first book in this series "The Highlander's Bride", with Colin's brother Conor, was lacking somewhat but was still a good read. This sequel makes any mistakes in the first worth while. I hope there will be more stories to come of the rest of the McTiernay clan and hope I can wait patiently for them.

I didn't learn anything new to me but I found the book to be a good reminder.

This book is fairly light-weight in both length and content. I read it in under two hours and I consider myself a slow reader. The message of the book is contained within 60 pages or so (on my Kindle) which represented about 2/3rds of the content. The rest was appendix material. I didn't learn anything new to me but I found the book to be a good reminder of the things I already knew. Others will have a different experience depending on background (mine spans about a decade now so I've read a fair amount and I read financial news and blog posts every day). Speaking of blogs, I read Larry's frequent posts and I couldn't help but wonder why he chose to do present this material as a book. It would have made a good 4 or 5 part series for a blog (there is another author to consider so I won't speculate). I think most people should read this book because it is a succinct reminder of the enormous difficulty in generating Alpha. Unfortunately, the author's don't tell you what to do about it other than buy low-cost passive funds (who hasn't already said that other than the self-interested mutual fund industry?). They don't provide tools or advice on portfolio construction and perhaps that is not in their interest to do so - nor would it be possible in the short format of this book anyway. Still, they could have made some recommendations for those who want to explore the ideas further. So the reader will come away with knowledge about the nearly insurmountable odds of generating Alpha through active management but it will be left to them to figure out what to do next. Yeah, I know, buy a low-cost, passive index fund along with some passive bond fund exposure, consider global allocation, etc. etc. That all sounds pretty good but it really doesn't cut it given the complexity of the passive fund space.

Great, Quick Read

Larry Swedroe hits another home run with The Incredible Shrinking Alpha. This is a timely book that all investors should read, plus it can be read it less than 2 hours.

Much of the discussion in the book is about how alpha has now become beta. Over the years different factors have been discovered the can explain the overwhelming majority of portfolio returns, and it just so happens that many of the outperforming managers simply had more exposure to these risk factors. With the rise of ETFs and passively managed mutual funds, investors are now able to gain access to these risk factors in a much more cost effective way than paying for active management.

If you have read Larry Swedroe's other books and blogs you will see some similar stories and analogies that he has used several times before, but for the most part the book is full of new material and cites numerous academics studies that other books have not mentioned.

I highly recommend this book for all investors interested in this topic along with The Quest for Alpha.

Great informative book for both armature and professional investors!

It is a great book for both armature and professional investors. The book is light to read (the 2 authors did a great job to put dry academic papers into layman's terms), but the facts and research behind it are rich, thorough, and sound. In 2007, Professor Andrew Lo and his student at MIT published a famous paper: "What happened to the quants in August 2007". It's the first paper I'm aware of that explained and discussed the fact of shrinking Alpha and rising systematic risks among active fund managers. The whole process was a spiral-down: more competition for alpha -> shrinking alpha -> increased leverage to keep the required return level -> higher systematic risk -> alpha becomes beta -> hedge fund beta. 8 years past, I am so glad to see Swedroe and Berkin rolled their sleeves and dig deeper into this trend and provided many newer, broader, deeper, and more detailed facts, phenomenons, research, and discussions on the investment styles' evolving mechanism and profound changes in the investment world.

I got to know Mr. Berkin at work. Berkin is such an intellectual researcher and veracious investment manager that you have to consider his opinion seriously. What should we do in today's market? Well, no matter what we're going to do, read this informative book first, make your informed decisions.

What a great resource!

As a library administrator, and avid woodworker, I get to see and read a lot of woodworking and shop building books. This is among the best I have ever read. I even purchased a copy of this one for myself. I was really impressed with all of the common-sense advice for day-to-day problems encountered in any workshop. Many of the other workshop books on the market are either too simplistic, or serve only to showcase famous woodworking shops without detail. This book gives all the nitty-gritty that you will need to set up or rework your dream shop. It definitely helped me.

Many practical ideas for the rich and the not-so-rich

I have to disagree with the other reviewers that this book only
has info for folks with cash to burn. There are a lot of great
ideas that can be implemented at all sorts of investment levels.
And a number of the shops they feature are not crazy "dream"
shops -- there are several one-car garage and basement shops that
are quite reasonable for any person who is serious enough about
having a shop that they'd actually go to the trouble of buying
a book about setting that shop up. And I also have to say that
this book is much more practical than "The Workshop Book" in the
Taunton Press Workshop Classics series. While I love the latter,
this book has more information about electrical wiring, shop
lay out, bench ideas, and storage. If you are serious about
setting up your first real shop, this is the book you should have,
period.

Prevented some mistakes . . .

I have always considered myself to be proficient at getting things organized and not having too many regrets afterward. I work more happily and efficiently when things are properly setup. This book answered several questions that I was considering in reworking my shop/2 car garage. The author provides you with the thought processes not exact layouts or locations for equipment. The author covers the advantages and pitfalls to various shop problems and locations. He effectively covers working with what you already have and does not necessarily recommend building a shop from the ground up. Mr. Nagyszalanczy does a commendable job of getting you to think through your needs and habits, along with his insight ( and examples of others' shops ) to set up a functional, habitable and not necessarily costly work shop. This book saved me time, money and some amount of frustration and embarrassment. Well worth it.

This collection was a compelling, if not utterly disgusting and depressing, point of view of the ultimate male chauvinist. The kind of guy(s), throughout all 3 books, that all girls want in college, and probably fantasize about occasionally as an adult - after meeting and settling down with a "good guy." I'm not exactly sure who I would recommend this to - definitely a pessimist, or someone whose rose-colored glasses need to be shattered. Outstanding lessons on communication!

Packed full of usefull information, this book will benefit your business, your marriage, and any other area of life that requires inter-personal skills. Mr. Felber's often humorous approach make the book an easy read. It is rare that I find a teacher or book of instruction that is so engaging and humorous that the lessons creep in "under the radar" and I'm able to take away knowledge that I hadn't gone through the pain of tryin to learn. This is such a book.

A Great Book For Any Reason at all

Get this book! It is a keeper. It is a pretty fast read and is just one of those books that a person is glad they read it.

If you are looking for a job it is great. If you in a job it is great. If you are single and dating, it is great. If you are married it is even better.

If your a teen or know one this is will make a gift that continues to give.

Public speaking or private meeting this book is a fountain of knowledge and a collection of wisdom.

Well worth your time and money!

I do public speaking for a living, and this book was both educational and entertaining for me. It's written in a very light-hearted manner, but the lessons learned were quite valuable. If you are an educator, public-speaker, or need to sharpen your communication skills for any reason, you'll do well to read Am I Making Myself Clear?: Secrets of the World's Greatest Communicators.
